Embroidered Greeting Cards
2012
Design, Crafts, Embroidery
A combination of two projects for Gail Anderson's Graphic Design class that was born out of sheer frustration.
  • Embroidered Greeting Cards
    Not your grandma's greeting cards...
  • This project was actually a result of sheer frustration when I could not figure out what to do for a couple of different projects in Gail Anderson's graphic design class, so, for lack of a better term, I said "fuck it" and stitched my new motto on a greeting card. Luckily, those two projects then were able to come together and create a line of embroidered greeting cards.

  • Bottle Caps to Cross-Stitch
A project about collections in Gail Anderson's class, using her collection of vintage bottle caps. Inspired by the vintage artwork on them, I enlarged each to 3 inches and created an embroidery sampler.

A personal project, because so many of my friends are having babies now - baby onesies which I hand-embroider. They are available for purchase on my etsy store: www.etsy.com/shop/jennysimsmakesthings

  • Wedding DIY Projects
Several of the things that I made for our June 2011 wedding: Table Name Cards (locations in NYC that are important to us, with an explanation on the back), Seating Chart (a unique way to tell everyone where to sit), and the Place Cards that I did using "fauxligraphy," stamps, and ribbon.

  • Hand-Embroidered Handkerchiefs
For my wedding in June 2011, I came up with the idea to hand embroider handkerchiefs for all of the women in my family and my bridesmaids. I embroidered their first initial and a flower in either their favorite colors or colors that I thought fit them well. I have since started selling these on my etsy shop: www.etsy.com/shop/jennysimsmakesthings
